However, we need your help in order to make this happen.
What do you need to do?
Simple. Answer questions. When you do this you help generate funds from the advertising banners on the bottom of every question page. If you’ve got your ad-blocker turned on, turn it off for a moment and every time you answer a question correctly a little bit of CO2 will eventually be removed from the environment.
What do we promise to do?
We will donate these funds to carbon-offset projects through local and international non-profit environmental organizations like www.carbonfund.org that are dedicated to helping the environment. We will also provide transparency as to where we actually donate money and hold the sponsored projects accountable to actually do what they promise with our donations.
How else can you help?
So get moving and answer a bunch of questions! We hope that Carbongeeks not only helps the environment but also expands your own personal knowledge and provides you with a little daily fun and diversion.
Carbon Facts
Carbon dioxide emissions from the burning of fossil fuels are causing the Earth’s climate to change which will have catastrophic results if we do not act to reduce them now. CO2 emissions are about 40% higher than they were before the Industrial Revolution and at their highest levels in recorded history covering over 650,000 years.
The effects of climate change can already be seen now. Temperatures are increasing, glaciers are receding at unprecedented speeds, whole chunks of the Antarctic ice shelf are breaking off, warmer seasons are becoming longer and storms are becoming more severe and causing more and more damage. Isn’t it time we do something about it?
